Still on the subject of what makes people happy. Happiness, I think, is very subjective and individual. No one should, and could in fact, define happiness. I am still on the subject because I have experienced little doses of pure happiness recently. And I am very surprised at the mere simplistic and insignificant events that caused me to thank God and which, if I were at a liberty to do so, weep. Well, shed tears if you will. Few drops; but quickly dried off just in case somebody notices and wonders...
The innocent tears of gratefulness:
On a really ordinary day, someone popped in your office and asked,
How are you doing?
How are you getting on with...., alright so far?
Along the corridor, someone stopped you and chit chat,
Sometimes, over not so important things.
On the first day of the semester,
Your class attendance is full.
The faces of your students, eager
Full of promises.
Such mundane, ordinary things could spark happiness.
And joy at being alive.
Thank you God.
Let me follow your destiny, The one you designed for me. My life; every breathe, every heartbeat, Is a letter written to you. My life is your channel, Through which your blessings flow. Use me, use me, use me. Each little print, a prayer fulfilled.

Catch it
I wonder at the reasons that make people happy. I am certain that, as diverse as human nature is, there are also diversity in what makes each individual happy: A promotion. A bonus. A surpise gift from loved ones. A marriage. A birth. A hair cut. A new pair of school uniform. A good meal. Or, a smile. A twinkle in the eye from a stranger...
But then again, happiness is relative. What makes one person happy may not arouse the same kind of emotions from another. There are many things that can make me happy, I think... like seeing a smile on a child's face. The wonder of life that one could capture from that innocent smile...That to me, is happiness in its purest form.
Think about it the next time you see a child smile.
Catch it.
Seek a meaning for that smile.
Maybe from your own memories of your past,
A childhood long gone.
There,
You may discover
Your own lost happiness in its purity.
Catch it.
Treasure it.
