Still on the subject of what makes people happy. Happiness, I think, is very subjective and individual. No one should, and could in fact, define happiness. I am still on the subject because I have experienced little doses of pure happiness recently. And I am very surprised at the mere simplistic and insignificant events that caused me to thank God and which, if I were at a liberty to do so, weep. Well, shed tears if you will. Few drops; but quickly dried off just in case somebody notices and wonders...
The innocent tears of gratefulness:
On a really ordinary day, someone popped in your office and asked,
How are you doing?
How are you getting on with...., alright so far?
Along the corridor, someone stopped you and chit chat,
Sometimes, over not so important things.
On the first day of the semester,
Your class attendance is full.
The faces of your students, eager
Full of promises.
Such mundane, ordinary things could spark happiness.
And joy at being alive.
Thank you God.
