I thought I feel pain
When loneliness visits me.
I thought I feel pain
When it makes its home there.
Alas! if that aching should alarm me,
Think again.
For the pain that I may feel,
Isn't any where near
The sorrow, the despair that surround the city of BAM:
22,000 dead they say, and still counting,
In a split of a second those thousands lives,
Stop beating.
So, if I thought I feel pain
When loneliness visits me,
I should rather think again.
Think again.
(written on 29th December 2003 in memory of those killed by the the earthquake in BAM, 26/12/2003)
